Communication

Effective communication involves explaining succinctly, instructing accurately and using unambiguous language. Yet although it is useful to understand the theory of effective communication, whether written or verbal, communication is a practical skill. Therefore to make significant improvements, practical experience is necessary. MTa’s Communication activities have been specifically designed to move beyond the ‘technicalities’ of communication and develop a wide range of communication skills through experiential learning. The engaging tasks and thought-provoking review process demand, test and challenge participants and can be used across all levels of an organisation. MTa has developed a wide range of Communication games & exercises to develop communications skills.

Leadership

Managing others is difficult. Leaders need to create a vision and motivate others to help them achieve it, they need to provide direction and manage conflict, all with the ultimate aim of improving performance. To do this, they must utilise a wide variety of skills, from basic team skills such as effective communication to specific leadership skills such as delegation. MTa’s leadership activities cover all the skills required to become a successful leader. Each leadership activity involves a challenging task and thought provoking review process where current skills are assessed and strategies for improvement are developed. Through the carefully designed leadership development activities participants will learn about different leadership styles and how their approach affects their followers.

Change Management

Those people and organisations that are able to both adapt to and embrace that change are those best placed to prosper. Think of the restaurants who’ve become food delivery services, or the educators who’ve found new audiences online. But change is rarely easy. Change management principles can help you create a framework in which to manage change, but you can only embed change by bringing people with you.

Remote Working

As teams adapt to remote working they face many challenges. For some it’s rebooting, reforming and refocusing, while others need to undergo fundamental reorganisation. For many it’s about performing effectively while working remotely, interspersed with just brief periods of being together.

Teamwork

The team development activities cover all levels of learning from introductory to advanced and involve engaging tasks and a thought provoking review process. Each task has been carefully designed to recreate the issues which help and hinder effective team working. While during the review process, the issues raised are discussed before following a step by step approach to improvement.

Customer Service

MTa’s customer service activities & games promote participants to ‘feel’ and ‘see’ the impact of their behaviour, both positive and negative, on colleagues and customers leading them to improve their customer service skills. Each activity involves an engaging task and a thought-provoking review process.

Project Management

Through taking part in MTa’s Project Management activities and games, participants understand the fundamentals of project management, how they can help and hinder the project and therefore how to manage projects more effectively. With the wide range of resources available through MTa, you can develop your project management skills.

Youth Development

To be successful, young people need to develop skills such as; thinking; taking responsibility; and making the most of their potential. MTa’s Youth Development activities help students; enhance self worth; feel included; develop interpersonal skills; understand success; and enjoy learning. The tasks drive students to come up with innovative solutions and ideas without worrying about the difficulty of the project. The tasks can be structured in different ways to suit different abilities and personalities, and the time available. Students become more confident and learn to work together to solve problems which, at first, might seem too difficult. Learning is developed through guided reviews based on numerous worksheets provided in a comprehensive Teachers’ Manual.

Team Building Activities

Las actividades de desarrollo de equipos cubren todos los niveles de aprendizaje, desde el nivel introductorio hasta el avanzado, e incluyen tareas atractivas junto con un proceso de revisión que invita a la reflexión. Lean Processing

Lean processing involves determining what generates value in a process and removing or reducing the steps which don’t. By reducing waste of materials, time and energy, production time is reduced and profits are increased. MTa KanDo Lean is an activity based learning pack which focuses on customer service through Lean Processing. It is a table top activity suitable for anyone in the office, factory or supply chain who needs to understand or influence customer service, process improvement and balancing workloads. The key concepts of ‘lean’ are progressively introduced and participants are driven to think for themselves and challenge existing ideas, approaches and behaviours. Finally, the learning is consolidated and linked to the workplace.

Assessment Centres

Popular assessment criteria include; leadership; influencing; customer focus; problem-solving; managing conflict; and decision making. MTa’s Assessment activities can be used to evaluate over 100 defined qualities and are used in assessment centres worldwide. The assessment activities have been specifically designed to fully engage and absorb participants in the task, allowing them to be assessed for specific skills and competencies while they work.

Coaching

Coaching involves the coach using their technical knowledge and understanding of a subject to develop the student’s specific skills and know-how that leads to improved performance. MTa Coaching Skills is a complete experiential workshop in one package. It enables line managers to understand and develop the attitudes, skills and behaviours required for the day-to-day informal coaching of others. Each activity involves a task to understand the skills of effective coaching, a review to guide thinking and develop understanding and a discussion to develop personal plans to apply in practice.
